Moving to an online fax solution does not mean you have to get a new fax number. You can keep your existing number by porting it to your new FaxSalad service. Follow the steps below to get started.
If you haven't already created a FaxSalad account you can do so here. You are welcome to setup your billing details immediately or wait until the number port has been completed. Just follow the prompts on signup.
The Porting LOA (Letter of Authorization) gives us the authority to transfer your fax number from your current carrier.
Double check the following list to help avoid any delays in the porting process.
To submit the number port request you will need to email the following documents to email@example.com.
If you use an online fax provider or any other service that does not supply phone bills then a screenshot of your online fax portal showing the fax numbers will be a suitable alternative to a phone bill. If you are unsure on what to submit, please reach out to our team.
Our team will coordinate the number port with your existing carrier and you will be notified of any updates and once a porting date has been scheduled. The entire process generally takes between 1-6 weeks.
You can begin sending faxes prior to the number ports completion. If you require a temporary inbound solution please reach out to our team.
We currently do not charge any fees for number ports that involve 4 or less fax numbers. Once the port has completed you will be charged on a month-to-month basis or as part of a plan as per FaxSalad's pricing.
If you intend to port a large number of fax numbers please reach out to our porting team for a quote.
The entire process generally takes between 1-6 weeks. More complex ports can take upwards of 120 days in certain cases.
Before submitting your port request please ensure all details are accurate and there are no complex services or circumstances with the existing carrier that could delay the port.
You can begin using FaxSalad right after you sign up for an account. Sending a fax does not require you to have an active fax number.
If you want to begin receiving faxes prior to the number ports completion you can purchase a temporary fax number from FaxSalad and setup a fax divert with your existing carrier.
